Professor Madison (Founder of WCU) Wrote articles which mentioned my grandfather and even great grandmother

The Photo Shown Below is Professor Robert Lee Madison , an educator who wrote a series of articles that were published in the Asheville, NC newspaper. He mentioned my grandfather Will in some of the articles and even my great grandmother Margaret Keener Miller.

This is a photo of the old Miller Homestead where Professor Madison spent the night sometimes when visiting friends and students in Qualla. He mentions Margaret Miller and Will (her son) in the first article shown below.


This is a photo of Stephen Harrison Miller and his family when Will was a young boy. Will is the third person on the left and between his mother and father. The other children are his brothers and sisters. I know that the boy sitting on his fathers lap was Jim Miller...uncle Jim. I am sorry but it is a badly damaged photo.

This article was published in the Asheville, N.C. In about 1938, The kind people at the Hunter Library at WCU helped me find the articles that follow. I could have found more but Papa was Antsy.
Article speaks of when Robert L Madison was spending the night and sleeping on the screened porch with my grandfather Will Miller. There was an earthquake.

Miller cousins visiting Miller Homestead in Qualla, NC. They attended a dedication of a plaque placed by the Daughters of The Confederacy on their grandfather's grave and visited the old Miller homestead. It was located directly across the Highway from the Old Campground Cemetery, So named because Camp Meetings were held there before it became a Cemetery.
