Wesley and Mary's Answered Prayer

Wesley and Mary are buried in the Campground Cemetery near Cherokee North Carolina. The Miller Homestead was across the street from this Cemetery.

Some years ago our daughter went to visit an ancestral grave in Campground Cemetery
in the Qualla Boundary, While there she noticed the grave of our grandfathers brother Wesley Vance Miller and his wife Mary. She noticed that Wesley died on September 4th 1921 and Mary died on September 5, 1921.
I discussed this with a cousin who does genealogy and found out there was quite a story.
Wesley and Mary always prayed that one would not be taken and the other left.
Wesley was a Baptist Minister..(from a very Methodist family). Wesley was an ordained Baptist Minister for many years, he contracted tuberculosis and was in Dr. Tidmarsh's Clinic in Whittier when he died of pneumonia complications in the night ., The next morning when they went to inform his wife of his death, they found her dead! The two had always prayed to the Lord that He would not take one and leave the other behind. So far as anyone knew she was not sick the day before. Four children were born to this union.
